My summer holidays were very interesting. I spent them guess where. I visited London! This is really a great city with its old cathedrals, churches, palaces and museums . I took a lot of pictures of London. Most of all I enjoyed going on а river trip down the Thames. The weather was fine! No wind, no clouds in the sky! We saw the Houses of Parliament along the north bank of the Thames. The clock tower of the Houses of Parliament is famous for its big hour bell known as «Big Ben». We saw the Tower of London near Tower Bridge.
We also visited the British Museum and Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives. We were lucky with the weather again. It was not raining and we made a ride on the London Eye wheel and went to Trafalgar Square where the tall Nelson's coloumn stands. I enjoyed doing the sights very much. I took a lot of pics there.

A month before opening the games athletes arrived at Olympia where under the leadership of skilled trainers prepared for competitions. For the time of holding the Olympic Games, all wars were stopped and the sacred peace was established. Nowadays the Olympic Games are held every time in different countries and people all over the world watch them on TV with great pleasure.
Олимпийские игры - это увлекательные и интересные соревнования. Они проводятся раз в четыре года. Есть летние и зимние Олимпийские игры. Чтобы занять призовые места, спортсмены тренируются не переставая круглый год. Занятия спортом полезны для здоровья. Изначально Олимпийские игры проходили в городе древней Греции - Олимпии. Первые игры состоялись в 776 году до н. э. Для тех времен Олимпийские игры были не просто спортивными соревнованиями, а были очень важной религиозной практикой, которая была посвящена главному богу греков Зевсу.
