wear. The party is in a smart hotel, and all my clothes are casual jeans and hoodies that boys of my age wear. I

My Favourite Book
Reading books is my hobby and there are a lot of books that I like, but at the moment my favourite book is the Hunger Games by the American author Suzanne Collins.
The novel was published in 2008 and quickly became very popular. It has been translated into 26 languages and has won many awards. The reason for this huge success of the book is its engaging story, fascinating characters and the important message.
The story is set in the future in the country of Panem. Its twelve Districts are governed by the Capitol that organises the Hunger Games every year. In the games the Districts are represented by one boy and one girl aged between 12 and 18. These teens must fight to the death until only one survives. The whole story is told by Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen-year-old girl.
I like this book because it isn't a common sci-fi thriller. There are such serious themes in the novel as poverty and starvation, a police state and its citizens-rebels, love and self-sacrifice. I think despite the general bleak picture of the society, the book lets us feel hope for a better future and the triumph of good.
