My favorite book is the book of the famous writer Kersten Gere - "Timeless".
The Timeless genre is science fiction, fantasy, adventure, and partially drama. (I hate drama and melodrama, but I like fantasy) I read all three books of this trilogy. And I'm really thrilled! The narration is in the first person. The main character Gwendolyn Shepherd is an ordinary high school student, for some strange circumstances, inherits the ability to move in time from her ancestors. Her "jumps" are uncontrollable, while she always moves into the past and in which year she will fall - is unknown. That is, it can move both in 1956 and in 1786 - it does not depend on it and when the next jump will take place - Gvendolin does not know.
The girl is confused because it was supposed that her cousin would inherit this strange ability, but not him, who in their family is like a black sheep, a “black sheep”. Her cousin has been prepared for this for years - history, religion, politics, horseback riding, fencing, playing various instruments, singing, ancient ballroom dancing (minuet, gavotte ...) and so on. In order to be like everyone else in the past and not stand out from the crowd, so to speak. Gwendolyn does not know all this ... She also meets a guy who is also the carrier of this gene for time travel, which he later falls in love with, and he plays on her feelings for some time.
In total, the adventures of an ordinary schoolgirl begin under the most unusual circumstances ... All the time next to Gwendolyn, her best friend Leslie, who supports and helps her. By the way, the main character from childhood sees ghosts and has the opportunity to communicate with them, but only her friend believed in this, and some mocked her in the family. Also, the plot of the book is almost entirely built on the love line of the main characters, and although I usually hate reading such "love dramas", I especially liked these books. I re-read them several times.
What I also liked was the very light style of writing in the first person. It turns out that you are just reading the story of one girl. And also the essence of time travel. This is really very interesting! And, let there be a lot of adaptations and books on this subject now, here the idea is presented in a completely new way. I was very pleased to read and reflect on this topic. I recommend this trilogy for reading, as well as films with these books directed by Felix Fukssteiner for viewing. (PS film is very different from the book)
I like reading very much,so when I want to read I try painstakingly select books.A book has to be interesting, instructive and informative. My favourite kind of books are science fiction, detective stories, romance, humor. The first book has been "The white fang" by Jack London that I've read.Itwas an amazing story about a wolf and his difficult life. But he struggled for the leaving to the bitter end.I learned that you have to struggle and fight for your rights. It is a very touching story. When I read I cried all the time!
There are some kind of books aren`t worth reading. For example, political newspapers or silly magazines.I think that is a wasting time in vain.Ofcourse,You can find positive aspects of this, like you can find out about current news or events, what is happening in the your country. But I am not interested in politics. Moreover, there is sometimes untrue facts of life, system and other.
Consequently,I would prefer reading that kind of books which are interesting to me or have many various ideas.
