The tradition existing in Ancient Greece at the end of the XIX century was revived by the French public figure Pierre de Coubertin. The Olympic Games known also as the Summer Olympic Games, were held each four years, since 1896, except for the years which fell on world wars. In 1924 the Winter Olympic games which were held originally in the same year, as summer were founded.
