Best athlete of the second week of April (April 5-11) became weightlifter Evgeny Chigishev, the third time in his career, won the European title - this time in the heavyweight category of over 105 kg.

The second stage - the definition of "the best athlete of the month." As a result of all the weeks of the month to a vote of readers include 20 athletes who have distinguished themselves in the past month and dozens of members weekly.

Ягудин Алексей Константинович-Russian figure skater and Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Olympic champion in 2002, a four-time world champion (1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002), three-time European champion (1998, 1999, 2002), two-time winner of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, in addition, a two-time world champion among professionals.Alexei Yagudin started skating at the age of four. At international level, Alex began performing in 1994. In 1996, he won the Junior World Championship. His first coach was Alexander Mayorov.

After the departure of Alexander Mayorov in Sweden, Alex age 12 he studied with Alexei Mishin. In 1998 he moved to the U.S. to train with Tatiana Tarasova, with which he worked until the end of the amateur career in 2002.

The first major tournament, won by Alex - European Championships 1998. In this championship the whole pedestal was occupied by Russian athletes: Evgeni Plushenko was the second, and the third, Alexander Abt. A month later, Alex was fifth at the Nagano Olympics, and in the subsequent World Championships won a gold medal.

 In 2007, Yagudin underwent surgery to replace the right hip joint. After that, encouraged by the lack of pain, Alex told the press that he wanted to return to amateur sports.  However, these plans did not materialize. In preparation for the return of Yagudin faced new injuries at the concert in Germany, he could not finish his speech and took away from the ice.  After that Alex broke up with the dream of continuing amateur career.
