The sandwich was named after John Montagu, 4th Earl Sandvichskogo (1718-1792), Minister for London and the player who according to legend, in 1762 he invented. While playing cribbage, which lasted for several hours, he did not find time to eat. John Montagu ordered a servant to him serve food between two slices of bread. His fellow players liked this way of eating without departing from the game, and they also ordered the bread "in sandvichski." According to another version, the same graph Sandwich loved to hunt. And his servant to the Count was comfortable during long hunting, came up to put the stuffing between the slices of bread.
