Hi, everybody, My name is Jane. I live in a nice village in the north of London. My best friends, Sally and Paula, live there too, but I live in Church Street and they live in Town Square. We're very happy here.
There aren't so many places as in London, of course, but we've got lots to do. There's a big community centre where you can do a lot of activities. My mother does yoga twice a week, my brother plays tennis with his friends and my friends have drama classes on Friday.
In my village there's a small theatre where we can see films. Next to the theatre there's a big cafeteria. Mr Smith is the owner and makes delicious sandwiches and pizzas. I sometimes have dinner with my family there.
My school isn't very big, but it's new. There aren't any bookshops or clothes shops, but there's a nice library where we can study and borrow books.

I have different subjects at school. Some of them are easy and some are difficult. My favourite subject is English. It is not easy but it is interesting. Every lesson we learn to pronounce English words correctly, read English literature, use tape recorder for listening of English texts, play different games. My favourite exercise is a role-game. When we talk to each other as in a real life, f.e, a conversation in a shop, or in a school canteen. Next year I will attend English couses after my lessons. I like English and I want to learn it better.

Northward on the Pacific Ocean is the state of Alaska, while 2500 miles westward in the Pacific Ocean lie the islands of the state of Havaii. Together the 50 states of the country contain ever three and half million square miles of land.
People work in different jobs. They live in cities, in towns and on farms. They work in the mountains, in the fields, in factories and offices and on the roads. Many people live near the sea and earn their living from it.
