New Cross Memorial is the busiest hospital in New York. It has the newest medical equipment and the fastest ambulances in the city. Its waiting lists are shorter than other hospitals' and many people say that medical staff are the most caring in America. Jane works in the children's ward. Her work is harder than some of her colleagues' because she is the most qualified nurse on the ward. Despite this, she thinks she has the best job in the hospital. Her hours are worse than her friends' but the re­wards are greater than theirs.
