There are way too many problems to count with current situation, though. Global warming (or climate change), air pollution (well, cars that work on gasoline and so on, airplanes), waste disposal, water pollution and so much more. We'd need to get rid of these problems to protect Earth, and we'll achieve this in due time if we'd just start acting. The problem with this is that not everybody is ready to act accordingly. One good measure would, for example, to stop driving cars if it's possible to take a public transportation.
