Winter holidays - a magical time of New Year's frosty January day when you can play in the winter games in the street, and in the evenings to engage favorite things in the home atmosphere. And, of course, winter holidays, like any other, it's a lot of impressions and interesting stories. These winter holidays I spent in the city. Vacation began a few days before the New Year, and I thought that they would go a very long time. Before the New Year has fallen a lot of snow, which gave the winter, especially the fabulous views. We celebrated New Year at home with the whole family. As usual, a chiming clock zagodala I desire. And although I do not believe in fairy tales, I would like some miracle or magic. And so it happened!Rather, it was a strange coincidence. On the day before a holiday when my mother was busy in the kitchen for a long time, and we are with Dad dressed Christmas tree, the door suddenly rang. We waited for grandparents, so I ran to open the door. Looked through the peephole and could not believe my eyes. Behind the door stood a real Santa Claus in a red coat and a huge beard, and nearby Snow Maiden with blond braids. Why I immediately thought true because the last time it was poorly disguised as a dad. Much easier than it could be. Santa Claus and were actors who were wrong apartment, but the magic candy I still got it.The first days of January the winter holidays were sunny and very frosty. These days I particularly like. Snow crunches underfoot and sparkles, shimmers in the sun. In those days it was great to walk in the street and play a variety of winter-fun games. We went to the mountain on a sledge, playing in the snow, hiding in the drifts, of course we had and cross-country skiing, and most surprising - this is a new ice skating rink. Where I first learned to skate. It is not easy, I tell you. Initially, there were bruises and abrasions. But when I went without error, my delight knew no bounds. That's making a snowman this winter failed because such cold snow turned loose and not sticky. After such a fun walk, especially, it was nice to be home, where I was waiting for my mother's hot lunch. In the evenings we read books with my dad and playing board games, which proved to be much more interesting computer. Well, that and the parents were long Christmas weekend. One day winter vacation our family visited the circus. To be honest, I did not like because it felt sorry for the animals. On another day with my mother went to the theater to play for school, it was very interesting and not dull at all. So I spent the winter holidays, which, although not as long as the summer, but rich and interesting. So now remains to be patient and wait for spring and summer.

England

England is the largest and the richest country of Great Britain. The capital of England is London but there are other large industrial cities, such as Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and other famous and interesting cities such as York, Chester, Oxford and Cambridge. Stonehenge is one of the most famous prehistoric places in the world. This ancient circle of stones stands in Southwest England. It measures 80 metres across and made with massive blocks of stone up to four metres high. Why it was built is a mystery.

Not far from Stonehenge stands Salisbury Cathedral. It is a splendid example of an English Gothic Cathedral; inside there is one of four copies of Magna Charta and the oldest clock in England. Chester is very important town in the north-west of England. In the past it used to be a Roman fort; its name comes from the Latin word castra, meaning "fortified camp". In Chester there is a famous museum which contains over 5000 ancient and modern toys.

Oxford is the home of the oldest university of England. The most famous college is Christ Church. It has a great hall which was built during the reign of Henry VIII and its chapel has become the Cathedral of Oxford. Cambridge is the home of Britain's second oldest university. York was the capital of Northern England. It is one of the best preserved medieval cities of Europe. It was built by Romans, conquered by Anglo-Saxons and ruled by the Vikings. Birmingham is often called the "City of 1,500 trades" because of the great variety of its industries.
