Seeing that it was getting late, Mike accelerated. He went to Yorkshire to find the house where he lived in his childhood. He still remembered to search the garden for snails, hide under wet leaves and carry by his father across the meadows. He hoped he would find the house, the garden and the meadows looked exactly the same as 40 years ago. Before the journey he tired. He had found some old photographs but all of them seemed lost during one of the many removals he had been through in his life. The road sign announced the name of the village and Mike saw the lights of a pub glitter among the trees. He couldn’t help notocing that the place looked gloomy and deserted. For a moment he wished he had stayed at home. Inside, Mike was greeted by a huge man from behind the counter, who suggested him to take off this coat. «He couldn't work here when I was a child», Mike thought. The man rose and then Mike saw that one of his arms amputated, apparantly. He felt like going out but when he was about to turn round he felt a heavy hand on his shoulder…
