Two nurses from the north of
England going to cycle
from Land's End to John o'
Groats to raise money for new
hospital equipment. Joe Swain
and Bella King are both nurses
at Bradford Royal Infirmary
Yorkshire. The hospital
badly needs a new running
machine for the physiotherapy
department, and Joe and Bella
decided to raise the
money themselves.
John of Groats in Scotland is the
north you can
go on land in the UK. Land's End is on the southwest coast
of England. Traditionally, the journey
these two
places is the longest in the UK. By road, it is about 1,400 km.
So
long will it take Joe and Bella? We're hoping
do it in ten days,' says Joe, 'But perhaps we'll need
two weeks.
The two nurses have planned the
journey very carefully.
