Saint Nicholas is a miracle-worker, a benefactor, a magician. On the night of December 19, the day of his memory, he carries gifts to children, congratulates with the winter, blesses on good deeds.

Nikolai lived in the city of Patara, in Asia Minor. He was born in 280 in the family of the rich and pious parents of Theophanes and Nonna. Uncle Nikolai was a bishop of Patar. The young man grew up in love and good, but he was deeply saddened by the surrounding poverty and squalor of the townspeople. He, as he could, helped poor families, orphans. In order not to humiliate people with charity, he at night carried food, clothes, goodies and put on the threshold of poor houses. Over time, people learned about the benefactor and were already openly going to him with their troubles and problems.

Святой Николай – чудотворец, благодетель, волшебник. В ночь на 19 декабря, в день его памяти, он разносит подарки детям, поздравляет с зимой, благословляет на добрые дела. 

Николай жил в городе Патара, в Малой Азии. Родился он в 280 году в семье богатых и благочестивых родителей Феофана и Нонны. Дядя Николая был епископом патарским. Юноша рос в любви и добре, но его глубоко огорчала окружающая бедность и убогость горожан. Он, как мог бедным семьям, детям-сиротам. Чтобы не унижать людей милостыней, он по ночам разносил еду, одежду, лакомства и клал на пороге бедных домов. Со временем люди узнали про благодетеля и уже открыто шли к нему со своими бедами и проблемами.
