Perhaps one of the most famous libraries in the history was the library of Bayt al-Hikmah, a library which was built in Baghdad in 1004. Now Baghdad is the capital of Iraq. In that library, the Muslim scientists studied the world’s knowledge and created a library of international importance.
They translated Euclid, Archimedes, Pythagoras, Hippocrates, and other famous Greek scientists into Arabic. Indian and Persian texts were used as well. Special books included astronomy, chemistry, geography, mathematics, medicine and zoology. A scientist, Hunayn bin Iskhaq (known in the West as Johannitius) translated into Arabic a lot of medical works. He also wrote some medical books. In one of his books there were drawings which are used today.
