Kazakhstan is a large multinational country that is rich in its old traditions, as well as in new ones acquired over the years of independence.

In the Republic of Kazakhstan the international holidays that are celebrated, are the following: New Year's Day and March 8, but there are also some specific holidays connected only with this country. They are The Day of Unity, The Day of the Capital of the country, and others.

All holidays in Kazakhstan can be divided into national, state and professional ones. National holidays are held in honor of events of special historical importance for the establishment of Kazakhstan as a sovereign state, for example. In the days of national holidays, solemn events are held. Such holiday is The Independence Day of Kazakhstan.

Public holidays are devoted to events of social and political importance. They include the traditional holidays of the Kazakh people. This category of holidays includes New Year's Day, March 8th, Nauryz, The Day of Unity, the Capital Day, the Constitution Day, etc.

In addition to these, a lot of professional holidays are celebrated in Kazakhstan:

National and state holidays are declared non-working days for the entire population of Kazakhstan. On these days, there are mass festivities and official events in the country.  Various festive events and festive concerts are held with the participation of both Kazakhstani and foreign stars.
