2. a) Read or listen to the text. Were you right? One day Dinara, a loving aunt, went shopping for new clothes. After a
few hours of searching, she came back home tired and disappointed She
couldn't find a nice dress to buy. "Hundreds of women in Kyrgyzstan
have the same problein and I will help them," thought Dinara. With
very little money she decided to start up her own business.,
Dinara designed some dresses, bought suitable material and a sewing
machine. She turned her bedroom into a workshop. When the dresses
were ready, Dinara offered them to a famous clothes shop. To her
surprise, they bought the whole collection at once! When they asked
her about the name of her company, Dinara looked at her niece Aigul,
smiled and said: "Crazy Aunt". The dresses were sold out in a very
short time women liked Dinara's models. In a month, the manager
of the shop ordered more clothes from "Crazy Aunt” and Dinara had
to hire more people and find a bigger place for the workshop. After a
few years Dinara opened her own shop in Bishkek.​

The story begins in the first half of the twentieth, in the late nineteenth century. Mary Lennox arrives from India to Yorkshire. (In those days India was still part of the British Empire, and many people from Britain lived and worked in India. The British believed that Indians are less important than they are, and made them their servants). When Mary moved, she doesn't know how kind and polite to treat people. Her parents died when Mary was only nine, but in life, they did not give enough time to the child. So Mary grew embittered and lonely, she didn't know how to make friends. When she is in the manor Misselthwaite with his uncle (Dr. of regular Archibald Craven), she meets with her maid Martha and her brother Dickon. They were poor, but lived happily, loving each other. Mary meets Colin Craven, who like Mary was hated. Colin was confined to bed because of his "disease". One morning, Mary finds the estate deserted garden. She and her friends begin to care for this garden, and as the garden begins to bloom and spring-like fragrance, children "bloom" and "come alive". At the same time, the character of Mary is changed, she changes her attitude to people, making friends, and they also see it completely on the other side

Celebrating New Year's day.

Nora: Hello, Peter! Happy New Year! How are you doing?

Peter: Oh thanks, Nora! The same to you and your family! I’m fine. What about you?

Nora: I’m great too. I saw you before the New Year’s Eve. I was so excited but you looked quite sad. You didn’t have any plans and you were going to see the New Year in sitting at home alone, before your TV.

Peter: Yeah. But finally I made up my mind to call over my friends and celebrate at my place.

Nora: Wow! That was a fantastic idea! I am sure you enjoyed the party.

Peter: We really had much fun.

Nora: What did you do?

Peter: There were 12 of us altogether. We ate, drank and danced till midnight. Then when the clock struck 12 we drank a toast to the new year.

Nora: Did you make any New Year’s resolutions for the coming year?

Peter: Sure. It’s a good tradition for me. I wanna study hard and become the best student in our group. What about your resolution by the way?

Nora: Well. I decided to start jogging every morning to lose some weight.

Peter: Wow! That’s nice. I’m sure you will succeed in it and you won’t give up your jogging.

Nora: Thanks, Peter. So what did you do after midnight? Did you go to bed?

Peter: Oh no! After midnight we packed some food and had a great picnic in the park. It was so crowded there. We almost lost each other among the people. Anyway it was awesome. We watched colourful fireworks, went skating on the ice rink and played funny games.

Nora: That sounds super. I will definitely go there next year.

Peter: We should go together, Nora.

Nora: O.K. And let’s just hope that the year goes well.
