1. My first impression of the city was more negative than positive. The air was very polluted and it was difficult to breathe. In addition to the heavy traffic were several factories there. Obviously, the air-cleaning equipment they used was ineffective or did not work all.

2. When I asked my local friend why the people didn’t insist on closing the factories, he said people had different opinions about the point. Closing the factories was a very controversial issue actually.

3. The gas emissions the factories were responsible for had a very negative effect on the environment. But at the same time, the factories provided jobs a lot of people in the city. The solution was in new technologies that would make the manufacturing process harmless to the environment.
